NEWS: Salary Sacrifice Survey

Payroll Alliance, ICAEW and IPP conducted a joint online survey of employers regarding the interaction of salary sacrifice and maternity pay.

The survey was initiated by the employer representatives to assist HMRC in drafting some new guidance for employers to help them operate salary sacrifice schemes correctly and to avoid some of the common errors and pitfalls.

The problem they faced was identifying some of the most common errors and finding out why employers were getting things wrong.

Was this due to a misunderstanding of the rules or was it because employers needed further guidance.
